I don't know about you but I love getting more out of my supplies. A fellow Scrappy Tails Crafts design team member came up with an awesome idea. Using non baby themed stamps to make a baby card! The Sweet Bear stamp set is just perfect for a baby card!
I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and stamped the bear all over using a light gray dye ink. I then took the trio of hearts and stamped those to fill in the areas between the bears. I did some dirty masking using scraps of paper. No need to get fancy!
Then I grabbed a paint brush, water and some Distress Oxide inks. Milled Lavender, Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.
Next I stamped several bear masks. I cut them all out and placed them on the colored panel. Then I took a blender and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I used a very gentle hand to add color over the entire panel. Once I was happy with the coverage, I peeled off all of the masks. There was a tiny area that I chose not to fussy cut out of the mask. I grabbed a BG000 marker and colored it in. It is a great match to Tumbled Glass.
I cut the panel down using a scalloped rectangle die. I added foam tape to the back and added it to a top fold, A2 sized gray card base. Next I grabbed Crystal Stickles. I added the Stickles to all of the big hearts. I also chose to add glossy accents to that cute bear nose.
While those pieces were drying, I grabbed the dies that spelled love from the Flower Vase Pop Up die set. I cut the letters out four times from the same gray cardstock as the base. I even remembered to add Stick It adhesive to the cardstock before I cut the letters out. This made it so much easier to glue all of the layers together.
I added the letters in a jaunty layout. I thought this made it look more whimsical. I also dabbed on some Frost Shimmer stix to add a little more sparkle. That's it! One super cute baby card complete.
The good news is that my card is part of a hop. Some of us have videos and some of us have blog posts to share. I hope you'll join in on all the fun. And a little added bonus - if you comment on every blog post & video along the hop, you'll be entered into the chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Scrappy Tails Crafts store!
